Jose Romano
Manager of the International Business & Recruitment Division


Jose is a first generation American born to parents of Spanish immigrants. A native to the state of Florida, he attended Florida State University where he majored in International Affairs. He also was elected and served as a Senator in the Student Government Association (SGA). In his last semester, he obtained an internship opportunity within the Executive Office of the Governor, which later transitioned into a full –time position with the administration.  He served in several capacities within different departments including:  Analyst with the Office of Cabinet Affairs, Small Business Liaison with the Office of Tourism, Trade and Economic Development and Special Assistant to the Governor. Jose has also served on political campaigns; both presidential and congressional.

Jose is a recent transplant to Austin, Texas arriving in December 2012. He currently serves as the Manager of the International Business & Recruitment division within the Governor’s Office of Economic Development & Tourism. The International Business division focuses on showcasing Texas to existing and emerging foreign markets as the leading global destination for doing business.
