The British-American Business Council Houston, a 501 (c) 6 not for profit organization, has provided services to the British American business community in Texas since 1982. BABC provides networking opportunities, business to business introductions, a transatlantic directory of 3,500 member companies in the UK and US, and marketing and publishing opportunities to a target market.  BABC Houston partners frequently with the British Consulate, UK Trade and Investment, Scottish Development International and the EIC, as well with other international chambers of commerce to provide wider networking opportunities to its members.”

Becci Himes has served as the Executive Director of the British-American Business Council Houston since 2004. She serves as an adviser to the Executive Committee of the larger umbrella organization British-American Business Council, Inc.  Ms. Himes also serves as the representative of the British American business community on the Mayor’s International Trade and Investment Committee – Europe and the International Business Development Committee – Europe of the Greater Houston Partnership.

Ms. Himes previous work experience was in the banking industry which began in the consumer and commercial lending departments of First City Bancshares and Nations Bank.  She also worked on contracts for the Resolution Trust Corporation doing workouts on failed savings and loans. Ms. Himes’ expertise and what she enjoys most is introducing the right people to each other and helping business relationships flourish.
